Beloved Community - Thought for the Week, 1/12/2020

Although the Christian calendar remembers the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., in April, the secular calendar celebrates him on January 20, 2020. Many people have changed their day “off” to a day “on,” seeing it as an opportunity to serve our neighbors, to open our eyes to the needs around us, and to work as a community to end injustice and oppression. Calling on the powerful example of Jesus, Dr. King called all people to create the “beloved community.” How might we also follow the example of Jesus and transform the world?
