Drive Away Fear - March 17
March 17, 2020, 12:20 PM

As an American with Irish ancestry, I have always felt a special connection to Saint Patrick.  He is one of the patron saints of island nation of Ireland.  Saint Patrick is known for driving the snakes out of Ireland, thereby making Ireland feel like a safer place for its people.  Safety is something that feels hard to hold on to these days.  We are surrounded by new sorts of “snakes” that can steal away our sense of safety.  Just as Ireland was blessed by the efforts of Saint Patrick to physically drive away the snakes, we are blessed by our faith in Jesus Christ to spiritually drive away all the “snakes” that threaten to steal our faith.  Let us pray that the peace of Christ drives away the snakes of fear.
