Evelyn Underhill - Thought for the Week, 6/12/19

Churches from around the Anglican Communion remember Evelyn Underhill this weekend. She lived in England at the turn of the 20th century. Underhill is perhaps best known for her works on Christian mysticism. She passionately believed that all people had access to God through mysticism – not just monks and nuns. Underhill encouraged her sister and brother Anglicans to find and nurture a deep connection with God in their everyday lives – even when doing laundry and washing dishes! How can we actively seek a deeper connection with God in our ordinary lives?
