Thank you for visiting our website!

Welcome to St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Bound Brook, we are a diverse and loving group of Episcopalians from around the corner, and around the world. Some of us come from as faraway as Nigeria, India, Jamaica and even a few come from Brooklyn. But most of us are from Middlesex, Somerset and Hunterdon counties.

We are a congregation committed to reaching out to others in this bruised and battered world in the spirit of Jesus Christ. As Christ touched others and allowed others to touch him so we are called forth beyond our church doors. We reach out not as a duty but in the spirit of joy and thankfulness for all that we have been given. We have been greatly blessed and strive to be a blessing to others.

At the parish level, we have a weekly program of feeding others called Lunch On Us that has been part of our congregational life for over twenty five years. Our worship on Sundays is at 8AM in the Rite I traditional style from the Book of Common Prayer. The 10AM service is in the Rite II style. We are a welcoming and inclusive community. Come visit and See!

Thought for the Week    by Rev. Foley  2/20/19

We have come before you, O God, and here will we wait for you.”

Our world is a place where many of us struggle to wait for anything. We want to connect with other people instantly. We want to arrive at places without delay. We want to receive our purchases without waiting. I struggle to wait and my impatience often gets in the way. This is true in not wanting to wait for people, places, or things, and it is also true in not wanting to wait for God. Personally, I want God to show up on my own timeline – preferably instantly. A helpful but challenging spiritual discipline is to wait: for people, places, things, and God. Let us pray that Jesus will grant us the strength needed to challenge today’s culture of instant gratification and to wait patiently for God’s presence.

Announcements:

Ash Wednesday will be observed on March 6.  We will be offering "Ashes to Go" between 7:00 and 8:30 AM from a location on Main Street near the train station.  Reverend Foley needs the help of an additional faithful person.  Please see her if you are up for this excellent outreach opportunity!

There will be two celebrations of the Holy Eucharist on Ash Wednesday: 12 Noon and 7 PM.  A seven-week Lenten Bible Study will begin at 1 PM on March 6.

A Lenten Quiet Retreat Day is scheduled for Saturday, March 9, from 9:30 to 1:30.  This event is free and open to the community.  To express interest, please see Reverend Foley by March 6 so she knows how much lunch to prepare.
