Thank you for visiting our website!

Welcome to St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Bound Brook, we are a diverse and loving group of Episcopalians from around the corner, and around the world. Some of us come from as faraway as Nigeria, India, Jamaica and even a few come from Brooklyn. But most of us are from Middlesex, Somerset and Hunterdon counties.

We are a congregation committed to reaching out to others in this bruised and battered world in the spirit of Jesus Christ. As Christ touched others and allowed others to touch him so we are called forth beyond our church doors. We reach out not as a duty but in the spirit of joy and thankfulness for all that we have been given. We have been greatly blessed and strive to be a blessing to others.

At the parish level, we have a weekly program of feeding others called Lunch On Us that has been part of our congregational life for over twenty five years. Our worship on Sundays is at 8AM in the Rite I traditional style from the Book of Common Prayer. The 10AM service is in the Rite II style. We are a welcoming and inclusive community. Come visit and See!

Thought for the Week – July 10, 2019

On July 11, the Christian Church celebrates the legacy of Saint Benedict of Nursia.  He is perhaps best known for writing a set of rules for monks and nuns to follow.  In fact, many religious orders continue to be influenced by Saint Benedict’s rules and guide their life together by his suggestions.  An interesting fact about Saint Benedict is that he was never ordained a monk, priest, or deacon.  Instead, as a lay person, Saint Benedict sought solitude and silence, away from the hustle and bustle of 6th-century life in Italy.  Alone and silent, Saint Benedict found he could foster an ever-deeper connection with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.  Today’s world is even louder and even busier than Saint Benedict could even imagine.  What can we do to foster our relationship with God?

Announcements:

The next Mr. Subs fundraiser is July 16.  Mr. Subs generously sends a portion of their proceeds for the day to Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church.  There is no coupon required so be sure to stop by between 10 AM and 8 PM for your lunch and/or dinner!  Mr. Subs is located at the corner of Tea Street and Union Avenue in Bound Brook, across from the ShopRite.

Both July sessions of “Pray with a Priest” are scheduled for Tuesday, July 16.  Reverend Foley will be at the McDonald’s 7:30-8:30 AM and the Bridgewater Commons Mall 12:30-1:30 PM.  This ministry is designed to bring church-identified people outside the walls of the church and into the community.  Please join in this exciting outreach!

The dates for VBS 2019: Home, Heart, and Community are set!  This exciting event will take place at Saint Paul’s on August 2 (6-8:15 PM) and August 3 (9-11:45 AM).  Children ages 3-11 are encouraged to register on the forms available in the narthex.  Older children and young adults are welcome to register as Teachers’ Aides.  Registration forms are due by July 29 to Reverend Foley or the church office.

Please note that the Wednesday Eucharist will not be celebrated in July and August.  Reverend Foley remains available for prayer.  Feel free to contact her by email (priest.spbb@gmail.com) or phone (732-356-0247).

Reverend Foley will be out of the office from the evening of July 22 through the morning of July 27.  Father Daniel Gunn, Rector, Saint Andrew’s, New Providence, will be available for pastoral emergencies.
